Surplus Industries Limited is into manufacturing of disinfectant cleaner, Liquid Soap, Stain Remover, Insecticide, Liquid Air Freshener among others. We are also a facility management company specializing in Janitorial, Office Maintenance, Fumigation/Pest Control, Gardening/Landscaping, as well as Industrial Cleaning services. We also do the following: burning of floor (marble, terrazzo and Palladian), honing of marble/granite, external façade clearing of buildings, degreasing of generator area, high street management.

The promoter is passionate about the aesthetics and ambiance of the environment; whether business premises, public places or residential apartments. This is borne of the belief that cleanliness enhances productivity and hence profitability.

Surplus Industries Limited is a private company with the desire to contribute its quota in the improvement in the look, feel, and smell of public and private places in Nigeria with our range of services.

Roll out of our numerous service offerings will be gradual and will start in the first year with janitorial and office maintenance services and will expand to fumigation/ pest control services, production of disinfectant cleaner, liquid soap, stain remover, insecticide, liquid air freshener, on to Gardening/ Landscaping and Industrial Cleaning services.

POTENTIAL MARKET

Market penetration in the initial stage will rely on our network of contacts in companies that need these services from which we would quickly build up a clientele base through referrals obtained from our satisfied valued customers. 

Target market is made of corporate clients; government and public service institutions; corporate executives, and individuals who are not satisfied with the services they are getting presently and are desirous of improved services. Corporate clients of blue-chip and successful companies are expected to comprise 40% of target market, 25% will come from public institutions while 35% will be from corporate executives/individuals/entrepreneurs who do not have the time to undertake these tasks themselves.

Our target market per marketer is 50 institutions and individuals. 30 percent of the prospects will subscribe within 3 months. With five full time marketers on board we can sign-up about 25 clients for the initial startup period which is expected to double in six months with quality customer service and aggressive marketing.

Lagos metropolis shall be our initial target. However, we shall move to cover the entire Nigeria and gradually penetrate into other West African countries using our aggressive marketing strategy.

PRICING STRATEGY

Our pricing strategy is designed to meet the needs of the middle and high income groups (executives, companies and public institutions) in the society. This pricing will however be pocket friendly, cost effective and competitive enough to attract and retain the loyalty of our valued customers and the attention of prospects.

PROMOTION

A promotional plan through aggressive direct marketing backed up with print/outdoor media, radio, an interactive and dynamic website/social media and colorful brochures is proposed for the roll-out. The goal is to create the initial awareness and motivate trial patronage by organizations out there. We shall use a bottom-up approach in our prospecting for customers. This is explained against the background that most big and known corporate bodies are already being serviced by established cleaning companies. Rather than spend too much time chasing that category of clients, we shall go after the medium enterprises that normally are not aggressively marketed by the established cleaning companies. We shall thereafter go up the scale to pursue the big companies since the jobs we did for the medium sized organizations will serve as references while talking with the big corporations.
